Effective Pet Diagnostic Techniques in Fernandina Beach

At Amelia Pointe Animal Hospital & Daycare, we have been taking care of pets in Fernandina Beach for several years. The wellbeing of your beloved pets is our concern. Our veterinarians are highly experienced in providing healthcare for animals. And that is why we are the most popular animal hospital around.

.

One of the challenges our veterinarians face is knowing specifically is causing your pet’s suffering from, because animals don’t talk. They cannot tell us how they feel. That’s why at our hospital and daycare we run different types of diagnostic tests on animals to determine what the medical condition is.

Diagnostic Test at Amelia Pointe

We run several kinds of tests to ensure the most accurate diagnosis. In many cases, one test may not be enough for us to conclude that your pet has certain conditions. That’s why we first start with the least expensive test. Bear in mind that diagnosis is as important as the treatment

Here are some of the tests we may run or recommend:

  • Blood work
  • Urinalysis
  • Digital X-rays
  • Ultrasound

Blood work: We work on the blood samples because it indicates the pets’ internal health. Blood tests can lead to early detection of many illnesses.

Urinalysis: This test helps us assess the urinary tract of your pet. With urinalysis, we can check for the presence of specific diseases, infection, and inflammation. Besides, we can also check if your pet’s kidneys are fully functional.

X-rays: We conduct digital x-rays that can be sent to specialists. This will allow us to find out what is going on internally. With x-rays, we have been able to detect several cases of bone fracture and internal bleeding. Sometimes, an x-ray may not be enough to detect the problem with some organs. In such cases, we recommend an ultrasound.

One thing you should bear in mind is that we don’t recommend a particular test unless our vets deem it necessary. That’s why we are always able to make accurate diagnoses and give effective treatments. We also have access to specialists such as cardiology and radiology if necessary.
